My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Goals

My goals for last week and their progress........

1) make the cloth book for Sugars' birthday

All the batting came out of my left-over-batting tub. It turned out really cute. I was worried about that last down the middle...sew the pages together seam, but my sewing machine acted like it was no big deal! woo-hoo! ain't it cute!!?? I ran across the fabric with instructions for this book and the matching panel fabric for the wall hanging in goal #2 in my local quilt store last summer. One of my very few impulse fabric buys. I usually only buy fabric specific for a project I'm starting..or thinking about starting..
Done! First Down...ball's on the 40.

2) work on the map wallhanging for Gator's birthday (gonna have to find some backing fabric...) The map wall hanging is now layered and pinned. I found a nice large piece of muslin in the box of fabric I inherited from my Grandmother and a perfect sized piece of batting in my left-over batting tub!! woo-hoo. I've started quilting it too!
Done! First Down...ball's on the 30.

3) read for RCIA (ahem)
Done! shew! Ball's on the 20.

4) back to Easter dresses!
postponed...till I finish the wall hanging!

5) go through the boxes of clothes we've been given for Sugars and see if there's anything in there she can wear right now.
nah, I keep forgetting to drag the boxes out of her room WHEN SHE'S AWAKE so that I can work on them at a convenient time. Oh well.

Now, let's see here. For next week??
1) Sort those clothes.
2) finish wall hanging
3) start my sister's quilt
4) Easter dresses.
5) hem curtains with hubby's help

The book is precious. Some times those "impulse" buys are really just getting a glimpse ahead of the game and doing it early. So often if you go back things like that are gone.

I agree with Susan...any child would love to have that book.

You're such a busy little bee

Just wanted you to know our "RED" envelope is in the mail and on it's way. Thankfully our 2 senators are pro-life as is the representative we get to vote for. I'm not sure of the one out of OKC. I think I may post about this, too. Such an important issue and such a simple, but powerful statement can be made.

How do you do all this and work and still find time to sleep? You DO sleep, don't you?!?

The book is just adorable and I can't wait to see the finished project on the wallhanging. I bet it's gonna be great, too!

My biggest goal for the week was to finally get finished at the old house so that I could turn the keys over to the landlord and remove that particular albatross from around my neck. I was hoping to do it without screwing up my back, too, but alas - while cleaning baseboards today I bent the wrong way and had the spasm from a hot firey place. I was able to make it back to the new house, find a ThermaCare back brace and strapped it down with a second back brace, took some ibuprofen, and then grabbed Amanda to go back over and finish the job. It wasn't perfect but it was clean and there was no damage so if the guy wants to take me to court (as he threatened to do) there isn't much for him to go on.

I left the keys and the last half-month's rent check on the counter, closed the door, made sure they were locked, and drove down those hills for the last time.

Now - once I get my back in order, I'll start tackling the new place and maybe it will start to look like a home and not just a storage facility! I tell ya, these things were much easier when I was a younger military brat and wife and such! Old age and a bad back really puts a crimp in the moving abilities - in more ways than one!

Okay, now, so much for this marathon comment!

MM,

You've done it again! That book is so great. Adrienne wants one for her child. I want one for myself. That is fantastic.
