My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

answers and such.
Pops, it's a Flute, a Lute looks like a guitar.
MammyT, dunno why you can comment sometimes and not others...but please keep trying as I love your comments!
Steph, we didn't try the fried ice cream as it was 10am and 60 degrees at the time...when we were ready to eat we were in another part of the park... but it's on my list for next time! (along with a funnel cake and turkey leg and gyro and......)
Diane, what cracked me up was the cannas that came up OUTSIDE the flower bed! Another rule breaker among us!
Steph, the Southland Life Building was bought and renamed. Here you go.
Jen, hubby drove :-) and I yakked all the way there and all the way home! I was soooooo excited!!
Cookie, Billy Bob's is fun I've been told, never been there... and thanks, :-)
MammyT, a Methodist choir director huh? I knew there was something about you.... ;-)
Pops, no, you're not the only guy round here....Cookie comments regularly...and Subvet rarely...as well as Glenn and Infantry Dad occasionally....but feel free to "encourage" the guys to comment more! Castles and churches are my favs too! and Yes, Subvet does clean up well! ;-)
MammyT, at the bottom of the youtube video, after it's done there are several tiny pictures, if you click on them they pull up related videos, I haven't watched them, but they look like more from the same performance...I'd start there. Or go to youtube.com and search Mrs. Hughes and see what all you get.
And folks, there's still quite the debate about making handbags out of an American Flag going on over at AfricanKelli's blog. Here's my take on it all:
Have you ever seen the movie "Thank you for smoking!"??? I highly recommend it! Here's the gist. You and I disagree on topic Y. (tired of using X all the time) You and I debate topic Y. I will never convince you that I'm right. You will never convince me that you're right. However, all the people surrounding us listening may or may not be decided yet. It's THEM that I want to convince. And when we discuss the American Flag there are many important reasons and deep feelings to teach those who don't know how to show respect to our flag. Overall, this debate has made me sad. Because there are Americans out there who truly feel that there's nothing more important in our flag than a piece of pretty cloth. That, my friends, breaks my heart. How can someone raised in this country NOT have been taught the special-ness of our flag? But the thing is, this isn't something you can reason into a person. It must be taught from childhood, shown by example. No wonder so many couldn't care less about a Presidential Candidate who doesn't salute the flag during the Star Spangled Banner!! I mean, why bother? It's just some cloth up on a pole......
SIGH
It's just too sad, and unfortunately, it is a sign of our times.
And "barrack", thank you for your comment, I usually go to the blog of all new commentors and tell them thanks and please come again...but you left no url so I'll tell you here to come on back. Oh, and since you were concerned.....let me assure you that I do indeed have a life, a Wonderful Life as a matter of fact, for more information about My Wonderful Life see the blog header.
I'll get back to my regularly scheduled posts tomorrow. I'm trying to get Subvet to record another video for my sewing for beginners post on Wed and I forgot to weigh in for the brown plate today. As for Magic Moments Monday I'll be brief.

Magic Moments Monday
Remember my little lady?
Her last name is hard to pronounce. I had her repeat it to me several times till I got it right and worked very hard at remembering it just right. Everyone else up there she's told to call by her first name....but not me. Is it because I'm the only one who says her last name correctly?
My last name is also hard to pronounce, as was my maiden name. It's irritating to have folk call you by the "wrong" name over and over. Even though to them it's "close enough" or "you know who I mean" None of us picked our names. But we would all like to be called by the correct name. Don't be afraid to ask before you slaughter it....but then make a point of repeating it correctly.
Also, give compliments freely and routinely.
This same lady, she weighs >250lbs and is paralyzed on one side. It's safe to say that she doesn't feel particularly pretty. I noticed that she started getting down a couple of weeks ago. Being stuck in bed using a bedpan, then having a nurse clean you up will do that to you pretty quick. Just on a lark I started saying "Hello Beautiful!" every time I walked in her room. You would be amazed at how she lights up. Usually with a "guffaw" and a laugh, a shake of her head... but she lights up all the same.
We all respond to compliments in the same way. Even somewhat silly ones.
Spreading the smiles is what it's all about!

The Posts I was supposed to post on Monday

as of Sun night I was 1.2lbs lighter....as of Mon night (the OFFICIAL weighin) I am the same. Exactly the same as last Mon. :-P
Gonna try and walk more this week. Will let you know how that goes.
MAGIC MOMENTS MONDAY!
Over the 10+ years that Subvet and I have been together he has sent me many many flower bouquets. Each one came with a well worded, heart felt message on the card. I have kept every card. A few are on my mirror, such as "Where ever you go, that's where my heart is." and "You're the best and that's what you deserve." There's also the one I got while in a particularly bad work situation that said "Remember, kick butt and take names....and if you get busy then don't bother taking names." (I think I blogged about that situation once, but can't find the post amongst all 370 of my other posts......danger of being prolific I guess)
Just little words of encouragement from the hubby that brighten my day.
What gets you through a tough day??

Magic Moments Monday
OK, so it's Tuesday...what can I say??
Days are fluid when you work at night....even when on vacation!!
Here's the low-down on Magic Moments Mondays from Stephanie at Scraps
Magic Moments Monday
Welcome to the 3rd weekly edition of Magic Moments Monday. If you haven't participated before, here are the guidelines:
Mondays, for most people, are the "Ho hum, weekend's over, work is WORK, and can't wait 'til Friday" type of day. My intent is to help us begin our week with something positive, something to hold on to, to get us through the rest of the week. Your entry can be a Scripture verse, a quote, an insight, something that touched your life or changed the way you look at things. I expect some of the first entries to be from the past, until we learn to look each day for those magic moments that remind us how wonderful life really is.
Please leave a comment with a way to find your post, either the link through your signature, or insert the link, so we can all read your experience. Then, on your post, link back to this post, so others visiting you can participate if they'd like.
I hope to have us a logo by next week so you can post it on your site.
Going back to work after being home for 4 years is hard. It's hard to sleep when I hear the kids cry, it's hard to let Daddy handle all the bumps and booboos and fun. So, I've gotten into the habit of pulling my blog up on the screen at work. See, I don't have my own office or desk. I do have a picture of the kids on my locker, but I only see that twice a day...coming and going (while I'm trading my outside coat for my lab jacket and humming "Won't you be my neighbor"...) Since we use all computer charting I'm at the computer for a good bit of the night, and we have to have internet access to chart/get orders etc. heeheehee.......
So I just pull up my blog and have whatever is my current favorite picture on the screen, I look at it often during the night and remember that this is why I work. I work so that we can keep them in private Christian school, I work so that they can go to private therapy 6 times a week (Sonshine) and twice a week (Gator) and not have to be labeled "Special Ed" by the public schools. I work so that we can get out of debt and hopefully in about 4-5 years be able to move into a bigger house where the boys won't be sharing a room with each other and the girl won't be sharing a room with the computer and the sewing machine won't be in the living room and the dining table won't be in the kitchen...with the litter box........
Besides, look at this picture for a min or two and tell me it doesn't make you smile!!

So, what gets you through a "Monday"?????

I am woefully computer illiterate so don't know how to make a logo or do the Mr. Linky thing, so we'll just bunt for now, okay?
Well, it's hard for me to say what gets me through a day. I know I was really gripy at work one night last week....took my blood sugar 104..ummm might need to eat more often!
Seriously, this gets me through most all the rough spots.

One of the biggest reasons I married Subvet was cause he can always make me laugh.
(I loved the beard, but so did Sugars so it's gone now...)
When things are just more than I can stand I usually go into my bedroom (aka the great cat hideout) and just bury my face in a warm, soft, purring cat belly for a few minutes.
And if that doesn't do the trick then I look for something to laugh at. There's always somthing like this around my house:
