Hi - I'm following links all over Blogland this morning and found yours. This looks like fun, so I hope you don't mind if I jump in!
Jape: A new contraction, from the words Jaw and Gape, meaning to yak while rudely staring at someone.

The words for this week are:
job lot
jodhpur
For those of you who are new this year, all words and definitions come from my 1992 Random House Webster's College Dictionary. I do not pick proper nouns or words that I know the meaning of.
For all winners, the Awards will continue to be found on my sidebar to pick up at your leisure.
Now don't forget to leave your comments for the new words!

Oh, I know one of these!
Jodhpur--a type of pants worn for riding horses--a little billowy at the top, but form-fitting below the knees.
Job Lot-- A store similar to Big Lots, only they sell jobs instead of merchandise.
Okay, that was a little lame, but I've only had a half a cup of coffee so far this morning.
job lot---a group of object finished on an assembly line. This is used to identify when/where they were made.
Jodphur--English riding pants!
Not playing this week but wanted to stop by and tell you how much this feature makes me laugh! It really is a clever idea and gives us all a chance to expand our vocabulary - whether it be with the correct usage of the word or not!
Job Lot, Two Biblical characters
Jodphur Slang for Joker, the ph is pronounced like an "f" As in
Hey! man, the Jophur is wild in this card game. It's a stretch I admit.

I'm sorry - I've still got nothing on this one as we have all sorts of "Job Lot" stores here in Connecticut and I know what jodphurs are so I can't even come up with a silly definition as my mind refuses to cooperate (hey, it's Sunday morning, I'm at work for 16 hours, and they're predicting "the storm of the year" is going to hit us so I'm just not feeling very humorous today but I did follow your order to come back over here!).

job lot - n. that staion in life to which one is subjected through no fault of his or her own. The job that is one's lot in life. ex: As a mom of toddlers, wiping runny noses is my job lot.
(But, I wish Stephanie's definition existed for my out-of-work son's sake!)
jodphur - n. the noise a congenial sleeping cat makes when you nudge it with your foot.
