My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Rounding up the posse!

Going around the web ~ apparently from a pro-life activist named John Otto:

Dear Friends and Intercessors:

This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind began to wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that President Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he signed executive orders releasing funds to pay for abortions, permission to fund human stem cell research, and federal funding for contraception.

I have been involved in the pro-life movement for nearly 20 years, and it pained my heart to see a man and a political party committed to the shedding of innocent blood. This man, and this party lead our country, but they do not represent me or the 54% of Americans who believe that abortion is wrong and should no longer be legal..

As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out in the garage I have a box of red envelopes. Like the powerful image of the red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue. It will be quiet, but clear.

Here is what I would like you to do:Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.Washington , D.C.
20500

On the back, write the following message:

This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world. Responsibility begins with conception.

Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this email to every one of your friends who you think would send one too.. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died before having a a chance to live. Maybe it will change the heart of the president.

Warmly,
John Otto

Fortunately, those of us who don't believe in contraception will soon outnumber those who do. -- G.K. Chesterton

I don't care who John Otto is or if this idea really did come to him in prayer.....but I think it is a fantastic idea! Much as good as the brick campaign of earlier years.

Here's my idea. Let's send em to Congress too!!

They should be very easy to find right here before Valentine's Day....and if there's any left they'll probably be onsale come Sunday!!!!

P.S. Be sure where your Senator or Representative stands on this issue. I'd hate to see those who are pro-life getting one of these in error.

I'm a little worried about our new President in more ways than one as he seems to want to play more to his "celebrity status" than to his "political status". And everyone just eats it up like this guy can do no wrong.

Definitely makes me worry for our country but as long as there are people like John Otto out there, maybe we can all try to do something to keep this in check.

By the by, I've missed you, too!

YES! I saw this over at Penless Writer's and jumped on board. I think it's a powerful yet simply gesture to get a strong point across. I'm having each member of my family do their own red envelope. I think I'll supply the envelopes already addressed and stamped, just require them to write the note themselves on back side of it and drop it into the mail. I want to make sure they all follow through!

i think this is a great idea. i wonder if we'll ever hear about it through the media or if president obama will acknowledge them.
