My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

catching up via facebook

For those of you who aren't on facebook with me....here's some snippets of our last couple weeks.

OK, those changes I mentioned at Sonshine's school? Here's a quote from my 7 yr old's teacher this AM
"I am seeing such good changes in him lately. He is really listening to me and allowing me to direct him with less meltdowns. In fact, he hasn't had a "major" meltdown all week long. The Autism specialist told me to make him an area with tape that is his to stay in when we are working or I am teaching to help him remember not to roam around the room and interrupt me. I went and purchased purple duck tape and he seems to love his "house" that he has now (he named it, not me). He wanted to know if he could leave his house when it is time to go home. I assurred him that he could. LOL"

And how awesome is this teacher to go and find duck tape that's his FAVORITE color??!!!!!???? <----- HAPPY MOMMY DANCE!!

I want a stand and sign like Lucy Van Pelt!!
The Nurse is In
$5. (hey! Inflation!)

Last Saturday morning we learned that my 4 yr old daughter has an obvious leg length discrepancy. This explains the nonpainful limp that's been worrying me. We have filled out paperwork to get her into Texas Scottish Rite Hosp. My first nursing job was there and her doctor and I agree it is THE BEST place to treat LLD. The typical wait to hear if you're accepted is SIX MONTHS. Please join us in prayer that she'll be accepted into their program quickly.

Thanks

Honestly I think she knew her "Special Needs Kid" status was disappearing so she just wanted to stay in the running with her brothers!!! :-))

Decisions have been made
Supplies are being gathered
Bring It On!!!!

I cannot believe I ordered something that supports the Green Bay Packers!! Of ALL teams!!

Yeah, this is gonna be great! stay tuned for details and pictures!

Remember our game?

Hubby fixed the leak!!!

And another one started.......

Both leaks are fixed for a total of about $50!!!! That's an $850 savings from the plumber's quote!!

Woot Woot
I have an AWESOME Hubby!!

Our New Support Group

Some friends on facebook and I have formed a support group.

We're going to be checking up on each other and encouraging each other to meet our exercise goals.

So, to kick it off I'd like to put up this week's

Motivational Video:

As of today I weigh in at Too Damn Much - (minus) 0.8lbs.

My plans are to Zumba 3 times this week, Mon, Wed and Thurs mornings.

I'll let you know how it's going for me throughout the week and next Sunday night will post next week's Motivational Video and goals.

Anyone who wants to join in, either on the blog or on facebook is welcome. Just tell us your exercise plans for the week and we'll check in to see how you're doing with them.

Super Fun!!

Does anybody else have cats that do this??

They eat straight down the middle, and once they can see the bottom of the bowl they decide it's EMPTY and will beg and howl and follow us around the kitchen as though there wasn't a drop of food in the place!!

One good shake and the bowl is half full again!! I swear I'm going to invent a V shaped bowl that you can never eat straight down the middle of!

Sonshine has discovered his new favorite book:

Best thing about this book......

It was once my favorite too!

Sonshine made a pet rock at school to take around town over last weekend.

Everyone say Hello to Freddy!

First Sonshine and Freddy watched some movies, then he made Freddy a super comfy bed to sleep in....

On Saturday Freddy got to go to the farm! Hooray for cooler temperatures! We're back to riding every Saturday. Then Freddy got to go to Mass with Sonshine and me. I guess Freddy was having a good time at our house, because Sunday afternoon he hid behind the piano (helped by Fat Cat). But the good news is that once he went to school on Monday for his Show and Tell Performance Freddy is now able to stay with us permanently.

I had an ARD at school for Sonshine on Monday that I'd called due to some difficulty he's had adjusting to 2nd grade. All his teachers but one were there and we had a great brainstorming session on how to make things smoother for him. I also found out that an "Autism Specialist" from the Region our district is in will be coming tomorrow to observe Sonshine throughout his day and give ideas on how to work with him better. He's also going to be getting a 30 min class at the end of every day on Social Skills. I'm excited to see how these changes will help him.

How's your week been?
