My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

pics from the haul

So, anyone else totally overwhelmed?

Of course not, you're not the ones trying to sift through all this stuff in 98 degree weather!

I made it through one of the big boxes and 2 little ones.

The first little one has a complete set of tiered cake pans (circular) teeheehee.

In the big box I found some tiny embellishment things that'll be perfect for Nancy, a bunch of "antique" quilting magazines (80's) and the motherlode of buttons, zippers and notions. I don't know HOW she could have so much! I already have a tub full of buttons (mostly) and notions that came from her!! She has heavy weight zippers, regular weight zippers lightweight zippers in every color and size in there! I may never have to buy another zipper again!

But the real find of the day was this.

On the side (which she's covered in pics from magazines) it says: Janet (my mom)/Sarah (me) Quilt Tops

huh???
to my knowledge she never made me a quilt top.

What do I find when I open it???

This is the block that she removed from our quilt because it didn't match.

and under it??

I'll leave you with a happy thought,

my cannas are blooming.

and I put those purple Louisanna Irises in the ground and did some weeding of my little bed tonight.

How special about the quilt squares. I don't think people realize how very much our grandchildren are on our grandmother minds and hearts!!!!

Awww, that had to be the best find ever! No doubt it brought tears to your eyes and rightly so.

As for the lawnwork, you're on your own there regardless of how well you might feed me!
