My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

A New Meme

Well, folks.

I saw all of y'all doing this alphabet meme awhile back and frankly it intimidated me to death. So I skipped it!!

It still intimidates and overwhelms me... more than a little.

However, my dear friend is going to try it, so I'm gonna do it with her.

So, here goes nothing...or everything....or....

A

Agatha Christie. My #1 all time favorite author. I started reading Dame Agatha when I was about 10. We didn't have much money and I had no friends. Books became my friends and I got lost in the worlds that were woven with words. My mother saw that I really enjoyed that first Agatha Christie book Ordeal by Innocence so she would go to a second hand bookstore and buy every Christie novel they had. (This was a loooong time before Half-priced Books!!!) I still have all those that Mom got ummmm 20 or so years ago. Plus a bunch more. I started trying to collect every title she's published. Now, know that she wrote about 85 mystery novels plus a few romances under a pseudonym, and every mystery that she wrote just about has been published under more than one title, some as many as 4 different titles for the same book. I currently have ..... wait, let me count.....84 titles on my bookshelf (I don't see a couple of my favorites so they must be scattered around the house). And yes, I've read every one of them at least twice.

Alphabetical Order. Now realize, please people, that I live with 1 husband, 2 cats (not that they have anything to do with it) and 3 children {still} under the age of 4. Nothing in my house is currently in any kind of order...much less alphabetical. However, when my husband first met me....way back when....I kept everything in alphabetical order. All my movies were in A order, my CDs were in A order by group name..then title, my books were in A order by author's last name...then first name....then title...(we're talking more structured than the library). A little anal maybe...a little OCD maybe, but I like being able to lay hands on something right away. Funny aside to this. I'm also one of those pack-rat people who need a certain amount of "clutter" around them to be comfortable. Others (like SUB-VET) look at my surroundings and see just a big mess, but it really is organized mess. Maybe I'll take a day off from blogging here soon and get those books back in order.......

B

Babies. So what can I say? I have 3 of them. I feel like my whole life up to this very moment I've been marking time. Waiting for right now. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that I am exactly where God wants me to be and I am doing exactly what God wants me to be doing. I was not adamant about being a stay at home mom....Subvet was. I figured I'd work if I needed to or whatever. He was right, I need to be home with these kids. Each of them is my world. They are so very different from each other but they have been loaned to me to raise and send forth into God's world to make their place in it. There are things that God has put on my heart for me to do with my life. But I know that those plans are not to come to fruition until my babies are grown. My job, my vocation, my calling, my life is to work every day to raise these babies to the best of my God-given ability. And I'm loving every second of it!!

Well, you were more organized than I ever was. I'm right with you on the baby thing. Wouldn't trade what I'm doing for anything, but I would like a little more alone time here and there. Oh well, we just do the best with what we get!

Substitute dog for cat and you could be in MY bathroom!

I only got as far as H in my meme, then got hung up on Halloween and Hot Air Balloons. (Gee, wonder why?)

MAYBE I'll go back and try to finish up.

Oh, and did you see the folks who'd spend a whole day on a letter?
