My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

When old and new collide......

I finished the top for my Mommie Quilt.

This quilt is huge! it's 106X84 inches. I"ve decided to quilt it from the back in an all over scalloped pattern.....wish me luck to ever get it finished!

This quilt is composed of pieces of my children's infancy.

This section is extra blocks from Sonshine's baby quilt, with his newborn footprints. (yes, 3" from toes to heel...at 37 weeks gestation!)

This section is blocks from Gator-boy's baby quilt with his smaller, more premie footprints.

This section is blocks from Sugars' baby quilt...with her footprints that, while more narrow, are the same length as Sonshine's....except that she was born more than a week earlier than him!

The pieced part of the quilt's sides are the slipcover I made for the terribly boring bumper pads I'd been given.

And this fabric found around the edges is what I used to make the crib skirt and curtains for the nursery.

I've never been one for matchy....I prefer (loosely) coordinating!! Should the day arrive that I actually finish quilting this thing I'll bind it in the green from Sugars' quilt...I THINK I have enough of it left.

Hurray for you! I know this means a lot to you and you will so enjoy snuggling in it--if you can wrest it away from the other members of your household, that is!

I have to say, you're quilts are pretty darn amazing. I haven't been keeping up on much of the World Cup though. I saw the end of the game where the U.S. beat Algeria. That made me happy. But I didn't know that Middle Earth was fielding a team.

This isn't a quilt, it's a work of art - art from the heart - and it's beautiful!
