My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

thoughts are the seeds, the harvest can either be flowers or weeds. — William

Getting a tuneup.

Hubby heated up some Portuguese Bean Soup for supper. I don't even remember how long ago I made this soup. It kinda got forgotten in the freezer. But oh it's sooo good.

Getting ready to top it off with some of the sour cream raisin pie he made this week.

I realized over my vacation that I really need two things in order to function well....sunshine, and solitude! It seems without periodic infusions of both my peace of mind falls to pieces.

To that end I will spend tonight alone, working on marking my quilt, and napping. So that tomorrow I can take the kids out to a park somewhere and enjoy the sunshine I've missed the last two days while I worked.

So, while the beans, cabbage, and raisins tune my body the sun and solitude should tune my soul and I'll be able to trumpet in a new week with all banners flying!

Have you learned any quick tuneup tricks for yourself?

Beans and cabbage together should provide quite the symphony while the raisins provide a little harmony for you!

Time alone is a definite tune-up - just the peace of mind to fall back and regroup until the next battle ensues.

Driving or hiking in the mountains is definitely my tune-up! Did you get a good rest and is the week starting off well? And I'd LOVE the raising sour cream pie recipe, too! (You know you can't mention these things without including the recipes don't you?)

BTW: Tagged you for a meme...

Ummm, I think my soul could be tuned with sour cream raisin pie!

Since it's only hubby and me now, you'd think I wouldn't need much down time, would you? But since he turns the TV on the minute he gets up and runs it all day long, mostly watching all the news shows he taped the night before or the ones that are on currently, sometimes I have to beg him to leave the house for a while. My ears need the rest and my attitude needs NOT to be bombarded with all that crap.
