My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

A Toddler's favorite past-time.....

So, what is a toddler's favorite past-time????

Depends on the toddler, I guess.

For Sonshine (who almost can no longer be called "toddler") the fav passtime is TALKING. This child talks till your ears are exhausted ("sauced" in my house). I mean it....he's gotten past the point of just quoting a movie...to now he takes bits and pieces of conversations, movies, and his own thoughts and weaves them into this wild story of his own. It's crazy to listen to and will wear you out trying to follow.

For Gator-boy the fav passtime would be misbehaving. I don't think he likes the corner...but it's hard to tell. I've gotten to where the first thing I do when entering a new environment is point out to him how many corners there are. "This room has 4 corners and I WILL use them if you kids don't BEHAVE!!

And Sugars' fav passtime would be a tie between being a first class PEST to her brothers and emptying each and every diaper out of this bucket, one at a time.

Just call her name and tell her "No!" and she'll put them all back again...one at a time.

The Good News:
My children are wonderful at entertaining themselves.

The Bad News:
My children are wonderful at entertaining themselves.

A quiet kid = a potentially dangerous/messy/expensive/all of the above.

All things considered, the gift of gab can be annoying but harmless in the grand scheme of things.

Happy Thursday, though barely since it's just after midnight.

LOL! Too cute! Kids will be kids that is what I say... but yes its the quiet ones that I would worry about :)

Thank goodness for children who can entertain themselves--they don't feel the need to conform to others' ideas of entertainment (which could involve some serious mischief!)

kids that talk and entertain themselves are a GOOD thing. But when they get REALLY quiet and you're in the bathroom, you're guaranteed a major mess! I love to listen to kids babble, I'm always surprised to what they remember.

I think it's great that they are so good at entertaining themselves as it keeps them from becoming too dependent on someone else providing all the fun and excitement. It sounds like they all have wonderful imaginations - even if they involve a love for the corner!
