My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Wearing Out New Shoes

So, Question:

How long does it take for a toddler to break in a pair of new shoes?

Answer:

One trip to Mimi's house!!

While Subvet and I enjoyed a night on the town (aka dinner at Red Lobster courtesy of my company --YUMM-OOOOOOYYY--) the hooligans and hooliganette stayed with Mimi and Grandad.

Subvet and I are not sure we picked up the right set of kids.

Mimi said this about them, "They were a delight!! An absolute DELIGHT! No tears, no fussing, we all had a good time, they all talked and talked and played and minded and ate well and just did great!"

I'm not usually at such a loss for words...especially not with my stepmom...we've literally spent 3-4 hours at a time on the phone yakking...today, I just couldn't respond. I mean the only thing I could think of was "Are you SURE??"

Backing up to their yard is a small ranch with a donkey, horse, longhorn mama and baby, and several goats. Apparently my kids had great fun wearing a rut in the fence line, interspersed with wheelbarrow rides from Grandad, playing in the birdbath (Grandad made a point of telling me they put clean water in it!), throwing a ball, Picking Mimi's flowers and putting them in the birdbath, hiding in the "jungle" of Mimi's 10' tall elephant ears, and just running around.

Mimi was a little upset about the shape of Sugars' shoes though...she said "Well you would have liked them to look nice for TWO days at least."

Her expectations were higher than mine.......

I just consider it proof of a good time had by all.......I'm hoping to do it again soon.

Maybe I should see what Mimi and Grandad are doing tomorrow!!??!!

hey, I had to remove your comment about the funny thing in Italy involving a pizza! I personally thought it was hilarious, but a few 'holier than thou' types were upset with me for posting it. being a missionary, I have to be sensitive. I hope you understand.

Of course the "grandchildren" where wonderful for Mimi and grandpa. That's what they do! You see don't tell anybody, grandparents have a secret when it comes to their grandchildren. Wanna know what it is? Too bad, I ain't gonna tell you! nananana. Ok, it's really in the children's genes enter grandma and grandpa's house and something happens to them, they change somehow to good behavior genes from parental behavior genes. My children tell me the same thing that Mimi told you. They were wonderful!!!
