My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Rediscovering my blog-self

Well, Heidi thought the Hooligan Mass post went over so well she's making me a regular. So don't forget to go over there for Mighty Mom Mondays from now on!

In working on putting together truly funny posts for EMN I've been reviewing my archive here. Looking back over all 553 of my posts and rereading where our family's been.

It's fun to look back and relive those memories...and the silly posts they inspired.

I'll be writing new stuff for EMN too, but to get the ball rolling and so I don't wind up under pressure I'm sending a backlog...then I can write at my leisure...which is what I usually do!

I've always known that I crack myself up, but I've found reading all those old posts that I also inspire myself. Inspire myself to get back to writing and viewing life from that skewed perspective that sees humor in everything. Inspire myself to become a better writer. Inspire myself to write more.

It's funny, I never dreamed of being a writer. Never thought that writing was a talent I possessed. And I certainly never saw myself as entertaining (well at least not entertaining to anyone other than me). But rereading some of my almost forgotten moments here...well, I mean, some of it is really good, funny writing.

So, I'm working on re-obtaining that perspective that lets me see unexpected events as humorous and working on improving how I write those up. What a fun adventure is spread out before me!

Thanks for this opportunity Heidi!
