My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Living with an Autistic 6 yr old.

‎"and when Mary was gonna have Jesus she went to her cousin's house Momma! And do you know what her cousin's name is? Emily Elizabeth!!". said Sonshine today......I'm wondering if John the Baptist enjoyed taking Clifford the big red dog for walks.

Hooray for good teachers!! My eldest's teach came to the ARD with hard, documented proof that he can write essays on the computer but not longhand. And pushed for his IEP to include adaptive technology that would allow him to use comp/laptop to complete work so he won't fall behind!!! I didn't need to say a word! (not that I could help myself..) Also helped she called him "A Math Whiz"!!!!!!!!!

Just to underline her awesomeness, she did it without any request made on my part!!
3 Cheers for Mrs Moody!!!!!

As a matter of fact, one of the things we're working on is appropriate voice volume. She said that during the math tests she stays close to him to make sure he's on the right problem. So she'll point and whisper to him "okay, we're on number 1, what's 3+4?" And he'll YELL out, "OKAY!! 1, 2, 3, and 4, 5, 6, SEVEN!!! Mrs Moody!! 3+4 is SEVEN!!!"

Apparently the WHOLE CLASS has caught on that he's almost always right...and will now wait for him to call out the answer and just write down what he says! She just laughed and said she found it too funny. But we're working on him doing his work QUIETLY.... :-)

Me: What do you want for breakfast?
Sonshine (6): toast.
Me: really? You can have ANYTHING you want. What would you like?
Sonshine: toast!
Me: oh well....I was wanting to go get doughnuts myself but that's ok I'll make you some toast.
Sonshine: (pointing for emphasis) maybe NOT toast.

Passing by a field of cows hubby and I start our usual debate about whether all the cows laying down means rain is coming. From the backseat Sonshine says "according to my research, the cows are sinking in the bath except for one cow that's just standing there."

WHAT??!!!!!!

Now there's something straight out of Weird and Wacky! A teacher who REALLY cares about teaching kids! MM you are very lucky to have one like that for your little ones.
