My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

goals.

Let's see here, last week I set some goals...it's time to see how I did.

1) assemble Mommie Quilt I'm getting there! The cat approves so far.

I have one of the sides you see here to attach and then to cut and attach a final border to each side and the top is done. Quilting, however may take the rest of the year!

2) go to the gym I did go once. Then we had some work done to the car so I wasn't able to go last night.

3) finish A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court done! liked it a lot...but found the ending a bit lacking.

4) Make it through the next to last week of work before VACATION! made it through last week okay, this week I've lost 2 nights of work due to the car situation and the need for me to keep the kids whilst hubby handles the dealership...one mechanic to another so to speak.
Which amounts to only TWO nights of work left before VACATION!!

5) Finish filling out the self-eval form for my annual review at work (ack!) UH, NOPE. who can think about evals?? I've got TWO WORK DAYS LEFT BEFORE VACATION!!!!!

So, for next week my goals are
1) finish assembling Mommie Quilt
2) purchase batting and backing fabric
3) finish packing list for trip

oh heck. I've got vacation brain! that's enough!!

Ahhhhh, vacation! One of the most beautiful words in the English language!

Got my evaluation last week, and this year, we are getting raises--unlike last year, when raises were bypassed due to the economy. They are not much, but hey, I'll take my share!

The quilt is looking beautiful and it's so nice that the cat approves!

Vacation is coming very, very soon for you and I'm sure you'll enjoy every single minute of it. As you should!

I'm so impressed with your quilting. Wish I had the patience to sew. I love quilts, my favorite quilt is a red and white one that I have on the bed in one of my spare rooms. However, when my daughter stayed here while recovering from an illness, she spilled some tea on it and never said anything to me (I'm sure she didn't realize she did it). Anyway, before I noticed, it not only stained the quilt (at the top edge), but it also ate away a hole in the material! It must have been strong tea! Now I'm trying to figure out how I can patch it up. Maybe I'll just bring it to a quilter in the area and see if it can be patched or repaired enough so that it won't be that noticeable.
