My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

And so it begins.

Lent has started......

Sonshine's homework yesterday said to take a handful of M&Ms and make a graph out of how many you got of each color.

So, Yesterday morning at work I had to buy a bag of M&Ms from the vending machine...AND NOT OPEN THEM.....

This morning right after breakfast he and I sat at the table and sorted M&Ms. Then I gave some to each kid....put down the small handful that was left over....and quickly stuck the untouched half bag into Sonshine's lunchbox.

shew.....temptation avoided.

At lunch today as I sat next to Gator-boy he decided to share his lunch with me.....which was fine.....

till he stuck his HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE (yes, one of Subvet's famous cookies!!!) RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE and said "Here Momma, HERE!"...........

when he wouldn't take no for an answer I had to leave the room.

Methinks it's going to be a loooooong Lent.

38.5 days left to go, sigh.

So, how'd you do so far??

I've managed to hold it together despite broken shower doors, spilled maple syrup and daughters that are opening every box of sugar hearts from the delayed Saint Valentine's parties they can sniff out. I've vacumned up at least 15 pounds of sugar today.

All suffering is a means to grace. Say it with me....

had to delete prior post due to multiple typos.

You're gonna do just fine. Remember will is the way!!

Hi...

To answer your question about the age difference between the two of us [me and my sister]...we're 6 years apart. My mom had a son between the two of us girls.

You can do it! The first few days are the worst, after that you'll just coast.

I gave up coffee one year, and I can really down the stuff. I had a massive headache that I swear lasted for a month, but it was only a few days. Before you know it, no problem. I also stayed away from tea and soda--to be sure that I was substituting one pleasure for another. I felt so good when I woke up on Easter morning...and had that steaming cup o joe in my hands. Before I took my first, I said to God, "This one's for You!" and thanked Him for loving me, after which I drank two large cups and had the jitters the rest of the day.
