Well folks,
Subvet asked me to see if y'all had an answer for our little dilemma.
Gator-boy has put us in a bit of a quandary.
He's become a streaker.
Every time he's left alone in his room he strips. We walk in after nap-time or in the mornings and there he is....necked as a jay-bird.
And he's usually peed all over something.
I was washing sheets at 1 o'clock this MORNING because when I checked on the boys there they were, sound asleep, Gator-boy necked as the day he was born, with a BIG puddle in the middle of the bed.
I have 2 solutions that I haven't tried just yet.
One is to take a big safety pin (a diaper pin if I can find them) and pin his shirt, shorts, and diaper together behind his back. Subby's afraid he'll find a way to undo the safety pin and then poke someone with it.
The other is to buy one piece zippered jammies and put them on backwards. Zipping up the back. I may try to find some after payday, but they aren't real plentiful in Texas in the middle of August.

My younger 2 boys never wore clothes! I was sooo embarrassed in Germany, because they walked on the window ledge..we lived on the 2nd floor!!
I figured they thought we were crazy Americans, but oh well. Since they potty trained early I didn't have that issue.
But I have a few ideas...thrift stores or ask your blog friend Jen to look around also(just need sizes) we have many thrift stores in town). I also would cut of the feet and hem them.
I also bought the dollar store plastic shower curtains and duct taped them to the mattress to keep dry! Diapers did not keep one totally dry as I used cloth when the boys were little.
Oh well...hope that helps, and remember your kids are like all of ours. Some people may pretend they aren't but trust me.

Would there be a way to fasten a onesie so that he couldn't get it open? Does he know how to undo a pin? If he doesn't, you could pin a onesie closed and try that. Other than that, I don't know - it's been SO many years since I've had to even think about this sort of problem and, luckily, my kids never decided that nekked as a jaybird was the way to go. Jen, At Walmart they sell twin bed mattress pads that say "waterproof" on them, what they are is a mattress pad with 2 layers, the top layer is a regular quilted pad, the bottom layer is a plastic sheet. Totally washable, dry on low heat and throw on bed. It stays right in place just like a regular pad. It's the most awesome thing!!
Linda, unfortunately when you get to pinning onesies you're in the same "how long will it take him to poke his brother's eye out with that pin" problem as my first idea. And remember you had GIRLS!! It's a different world, I'm here to tell ya.
My middle son had almost the same problem. Until I made him take a rag and wipe his own mess up. EVERYTIME.. he was 3 at the time. It only took a few times and he got the idea it wasn't fun to clean your own messes up.
