My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

Tiny Talk Tuesday

TINY TALK TUESDAY is once again upon us. Go see Mary at Not Before 7 to see more of this fun event.

As we're driving to preschool past the snow I heard a lot about the snow from Sonshine.

"snow is cold mama"

"snow is for eating"
no, I think it's dirty by now.

"snow is for throwing"
you'll have to ask your teacher if she wants you to have a snowfight.

"I see the snow mama"
Yes, what color is that snow? Is the snow white?
"I see Snow White!!"
........(where'd the dwarves get to?)

Sunrises

Well folks,

Sunday morning as I drove home (headed East) I got to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises ever!

I mean it was full of color and clouds and over the fields and pastures it was magnificent.

But I had no camera....

Well, I knew that my cell phone had a camera but I'd never used it, so I hastily snapped a couple of shots, only to discover that I have NO WAY of getting them from the camera to the computer. And they are gorgeous!!!

What to do???

What to do????

Well, Sunday night I made sure to take my camera with me and I'd take pictures of Monday's sunrise!! Hopefully it will be as lovely!!!

well........

here.............

you...........................

go......................................

Monday's Sunrise..........................................

This is the airport and runway in the big city next (10 miles over) to my town.

This is pasture land....well the cows have plenty to drink.....if they don't get stuck in the mud!!!

sigh.........

the rain was wonderful....but not a very pretty sunrise to show you.

Another email

Well, thanks to Diane for sending me this....it was too good to pass up...especially as it reminded me of Gator-boy!

For all of you in education, with sons, grandsons, or who just love the
things little kids say ~ a reminder that adult words are often taken
literally.....

"Circumcised" (this is priceless!)

A teacher noticed that a little boy at the back of the class was
squirming around, scratching his crotch, and not paying attention.

She went back t o find out what was going on.

He was quite embarrassed and whispered that he had just recently been
circumcised and he was quite itchy.

The teacher told him to go down to the principal's office. He was to
telephone his mother and ask her what he should do about it.

He did and returned to his class.

Suddenly, there was a commotion at the back of the room.

She went back to investigate only to find him sitting at his desk with
his "private part" hanging out.

"I thought I told you to call your mom!" she said.

"I did," he said, "And she told me that if I could stick it out till
noon, she'd come and pick me up from school."

The Cure!!!

Well, I've found it!

A cure for all that ails you (or me in this case).

what is it? What is it curing??

go ahead and ask.....

Here's the problem with my job. (or problems...)

it's late at night, I don't always sleep well, this means my patience is not always wonderful.

The hardest patients I have are the little stroke patients. (little is a way of words, not a reference to size) My heart just breaks for these little ladies who have lost the ability to speak. Think about this, you know in your head exactly what you need and can form entire intelligent paragraphs, stories even. But all you can get out your mouth are single words at a time....if you're lucky, sometimes all that comes out is gibberish. You want to say yes so you nod your head and speak, but the word that comes out is no. There's something you need, maybe it's a pillow under your now paralyzed arm, maybe it's a drink of water but all you can get out is the nurse's name.

I've cried more for these little ladies than I ever remember crying over the sick and disabled kids I used to work with. It's just so damn frustrating. They're here for therapy, speech and physical, and I'm to continue that therapy in all care....but WHAT is it she's trying to ask me for?? She tries to point but good Lord there's a LOT of stuff in this room which 1 particular thing is she pointing at? And what does she want with it??

So I cry, because I only got 4 hours sleep today (plus 30 min over my lunch break) and it's my 3rd night in a row with this lady and my resistance is terribly low. Of course, my tears and concern make her more frustrated.....(and yes, dear, it's already raining so don't give me the "could be worse...could be raining" line.)

AHA, BUT I HAVE FOUND A CURE!!

You betcha!

Are you ready for this??

This computer has 3D Pinball for Windows..Space Cadet!!!!!!!

It just doesn't get any better than computer pinball for venting frustration. It uses 4 keys on the keyboard 2 for paddles and 2 for rocking the machine side to side. My co-worker said "You're really beating that keyboard!" Aaaaaahhhh, tis the reason I chose Pinball over Minesweeper, Spider Solitare AND Freecell!!

I hold the high score for this comp.... 3,592,000

Thanks, I needed that!

There goes her call light, maybe we can get on the same wavelength this time around.

:-)
