The new Thesaurus Thursday post is up!
So, Tuesday night I was off and I decided to bite the bullet and decorate the house. I had been procrastinating the decorating as the task just seemed daunting...despite all my Christmas Spirit here in blogland.
Oh boy do I wish I'd had my video camera ready at 6:30AM Wed morning when the boys came trotting down the hall!!
First Sonshine see this through his barely opened eyes:
And he says "Momma!! You have STOCKINGS Momma!!!"
Then he turns as sees this while rubbing his eyes:
And he says "You have EVERYTHING Momma!!"
I tell him, "Yes, everything's up but the tree....Momma and Daddy will do that on Saturday."
Then he turns around slowly on the spot, taking in every detail:
And he says, "Momma! It's EVERYWHERE! Momma!! The Christmas Decorations are EVERYWHERE!!!"
He's continued talking about all the "Christmas Things" ever since!!
I can't wait till morning when he sees the new additions to the decor:
I'll come back and let you know what he said!
I wonder what he'd do if I took him to visit someone like Stephanie at Scraps, who has not one box of decorations....but 15 bins of them!
UPDATE: He walked in and saw the 2 new wall hangings and now all he can talk about is the "Kitty cats in hats on the angel Momma! yes!! Cats in Hats on the angel!" We may possibly have read The Cat in the Hat one too many times. :-)
Sonshine would be sadly disappointed at the lack of Christmas decorations around here. I've about decided I'm not even putting up a tree this year.
Your decorations look great and your kids will have sweet memories of all your Christmas preparations.
Oh, my goodness, I can't believe you searched through to find that post on my blog! lol And the sad part is, so far, you've out-decorated me.
Would you believe the only thing I have managed to put out so far this year is a wreath on the front door and the lighted star and angel on the two kitchen windows that face the street?
I did get the dining room table moved into the kitchen in preparation for putting the tree up, but I have NO idea (outside of the flea-hunting) where this month has gone.
I can just picture his joy and glee. Thanks for sharing. Made me smile all the way through.
This is one of the best things about Christmas - seeing it through a child's eyes and appreciating all of the decorations through their wonder.
Like Dianne's house, I'm afraid that Sonshine would be very disappointed in mine though I'm hoping to at least get the tree out of the box today and put my light-up deer in the front yard. Hoping, mind you!
sonshine's reaction made me smile. we as adults should try to see things through the eyes of a young one. we would be more awe inspired.
can't wait to hear his reaction to the tree =)
