My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

you must wait!

YES, you must!!

why?

because I spent the better part of tonight reading blog entries starting as far back as May 27th!! All the way up to yesterday. Therefore I have not gotten the pictures from our WONDERFUL trip to the Dallas Arboretum uploaded.

And, of course, I work the next 3 nights.

I'm sorry, but it's either or. Either I read...or I upload pics. So THERE. You Must Wait.

:-P

Hubby told me he's never had homemade ice cream! So, I'm shopping for a maker/creamer/whatever those things are called!! This MUST be remedied.

What about you? Ever had ice cream straight outof the whirlythingy-with-ice-and-rocksalt???

oh summer memories abound....... y'all discuss while I try AGAIN to finish this quilt! I fear it'll be NEXT Monday before it sees the inside of a post office!

Homemade peach ice cream--the best EVER!

That's all we had growing up (homemade ice cream), but I now take the lazy way out and just buy the stuff. I remember having to help crank, before the electric machines.

Yes, I'm that old.

Lots of homemade ice cream. And you don't need a cranky thing--you can put one 1# coffee can inside a 3# coffee can with ice and salt--have the kids roll it back forth to each other on the floor. Of course--you have to fasten the lid down with tape--because they'll be curious and want to OPEN it!

I believe I've had homemade ice cream once or twice back when I was a kid. My grandfather had one of the old hand-cranked ice cream makers and my uncles took turns at the cranking. Good stuff!

And if we have to wait then we have to wait! I understand completely about the "read or else"!

i haven't had homemade ice cream since i was a kid. my grandparents used to make it for our trips to their home. i loved when they added the fruit. if i remember right, peach and cherry were my favorite.

can't wait to hear how subvet's going to like it.

Hey Mighty Mom!Yep, had the hand crank stuff, had it in the two coffee cans also....made a huge mess when Mom didn't tape the first one shut, but it sure tasted good! And have now taught Little Critter to make it himself. We make homemade ice cream quite often during our second and third seasons of the year....you know what I mean. LOL! Hope you can find a reasonably priced maker and introduce Hubby and kiddos to the magic and joys of fresh berry ice cream....or straight off the tree peach.....or just picked it five minutes ago plum....or who could help but love it vanilla. Have a great weekend and congrats on finishing the quilt. Shalom.
