Took Sonshine for his eval to start equestrian therapy yesterday.
Highlights include the jack-in-the-box-circus-clown toy he played with in the office that he has talked about ever since.
The horse that he watched poop.
Chasing the barn cats all around the farm.
Talking about horse poop and that it's dirty and a no touch..."yeeees momma! horse poop isn't cake, momma, we don't eat it!"
The owner's amazement as the 2 donkeys walked right up to me and Sonshine...cuz they never come up to the kids at the first meeting.
And stopping on the way home to buy his "silly hat" (helmet) for riding the horses, which is black...and how Bella, the horse he's gonna learn to ride, needs to get a white hat too.
Lessons start Sept 12th. Should have lots of pictures and quotes to share!!

Horse poop. Boys will be boys, won't they?
I'll bet he's gonna have a great time!
I can't wait to hear how this goes!
i've heard great things about this kind of therapy. can't wait to hear how it goes and to see the pics.
I've missed stoppin at yur blog fer a few days now (sorry bout that), and when I just read this about "equestrian" therapy it got my attention because one of my granddaughters who also has Asbergers takes it as well. The horse is a nice gentle animal and is absolutely huge in relationship to Julie. Julie was also completely fascinated when the horse pooped, especially about the size of same... ;-). Because we all warned her about watching where she walks, she now does a complete and thorough ground inspection before each step. She's only 6 but it takes us a half hour to walk 100 feet... ;-)
As usualy, good read Sarah.
Oh, man! I'm so excited!! How wonderful for Sonshine. Can't wait to hear all about the lessons.
