My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Tiny Talk Tuesday

I don't know if it's just me or not, but I've actually started taking notes of what Sonshine says during the week so that I'll have something to put up on Tuesday. Otherwise all his silly sayings just fall out of the holes in my head come time to write this post each week.

So, the other night while I was fixing supper and they were playing in the living room I hear Sonshine say LOUDLY. "The kitty needs to go in the toilet!!!"

Now, I don't know if he's talking about potty training the cat or cleaning the toilet but I laughed and continued cooking. Then a minute or two later I hear "kitty need to go in the toilet....oh ....umm....oh...I need to go put TTs in the potty!!" well, OK, those are MAGIC WORDS in this house so I run..unlock the gate to the hallway and into the bathroom we go.....and there's kitty. TRAPPED.

I'm guessing he saw kitty drinking out of the toilet and wanted to go play with kitty, cuz he didn't need to go TT...just wanted in the bathroom. Poor kitty may never use that bathroom again.

As an aside. I have no idea where he heard the word "toilet" as we always say potty...even for mom and dad.

Good Afternoon MightyMom,
That is just too cute. Kid's say the darndest things don't they? Kids are smart. Sonshine may have heard it on t.v. or someone else say it reckon? Kids are very smart at a young age these days. Some of them even know way too much. LOL. You mentioning writing things down that Sonshine says, reminded me of last night I was thinking I needed to write me a list of what I was going to blog about the next day. I didn't do it tho. LOL. Well, take care my friend and have a great Tuesday. Thanks for sharing this with us. I really enjoyed it. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Amazing what they can pick up, isn't it?

When DD was 5 years old, she stood and watched us try to start the car one cold morning, then said "What the h--- is wrong with that d--- car?"

I was so shocked I couldn't say anything at first, because J-Man and I never said anything like that. When I finally was able to speak calmly, I asked her where she heard those words, she said "Aunt Sheila says them."

I explained why those words were not acceptable and gave her a list of a few more. She was sorry and compliant, and all was well until one day we were watching "War Games" for the 354th time and she was quoting along with the movie. Then came the part where she echoes "Hold the door! Hold the door! Hold the g--d--- door!"

Again I was horrified! After scolding her soundly, she tearfully replied "But Mommy, that one wasn't on the list."

She was right. I'd forgotten to include that one because it was so unspeakable. Just goes to show how we can get numbed to some words we hear, but to children, they're all new.

Sorry for the long comment!

oh, i can just picture all of this. hehe.

one of the good things that came from us having a cat was learning to put the toilet seat down after every visit. that cat would constantly be in the toilet :]

When my brother was a little man my mom was backing the car out of the driveway and hit the gas meter. My darling baby brother said that's what the G D SOB gets for getting in the way! Mother never said a word and that was the last time he said it!! Mother did give my sep father a few words of her own. Out of brothers ear shot!! One of my favorite stories of my favorite guy!!
