My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...
It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

The Water Park.

But first, I must brag on my hubby!
Ain't these gorgeous!???

they're in my FAVORITE vase! :-)

Now on to our water park fun.

I think, in this day and age, THIS is impressive!!

First up, the boys! We got there early and had the place to ourselves for about the first hour.

This shot is 1/5 second too late! He'd just run THROUGH the biggest fountain shooting at it's highest!

thirsty??

Anticipation!!......

Not bad.......
Let me see if I can do better.....
Hooo-Ahhhh!!!

Yes, I am a BOY.

Onto Miss Priss' tale.

First she circled the perimeter, like before......making sure to NOT get wet!

Then she decided she could get closer and watch the fountains go on and off....so long as she stayed out of their range......

Eventually she tried sticking a finger or two in.....

And immediately had to let me know "I'm WET MOM!!"...

and yet, that water is sooo inticing......

She just had to try again!

"I did it! I got WET Mom! See, Mom! My hand is WET!!!"

Now, since she managed to keep from melting, she figured she'd better try dipping a toe or two in too.....

A "friend" was happy to show her how this is done.....

That's the ticket!.....

So that by the time the boys were worn out and hungry.....

Sugars had just discovered the thrill and adventure to be had.......
and so SHE didn't want to leave!!!

Next time I'll have to take her watch off and put her ear plugs in, as I do believe she'll actually get wet enough to drip a little then!

Better remember my camera!

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

It's Tuesday!

Have you given your guesses for our Thesaurus Thursday game yet? if not scroll down a post or two and have at it!!

I need some goals. I don't feel like I'm getting much accomplished here lately.

What I have done (that I can remember):

I went to the JoAnn's waaaaaay across 3 towns and bought baby flannel and quilt marking pens. I'd been at a standstill in trying to get my quilt marked due to all my pens running out of ink. And the ones I use aren't carried by Walmart...Target...Michael's....or the quilt store in the next town over. So I made a trek out to JoAnn's. While I was there I remembered that Sherry is pregnant and I'm all out of babyblankie stuff. So I got enough for 4 blankies to have on hand when the next person decides to procreate!

While I was at Michaels in search of pens I came across a couple things that I just HAD to get for Stephanie!! ..... I'll be putting them in the mail this weekend.

I sat this morning and marked my quilt for awhile. I now have 1/2 of it marked....and FIVE brand new pens to use.

Another thing I have done is to join in Jacquie's latest challenge!

This is a challenge to get moving! A group of us are joining together and logging miles walked, run, cycled or whatever. Till we gain enough miles to "walk across America." There's a fun sewing incentive too! That plus lots of mutual support and encouragement. If you're interested in learning more, click on the picture!

And Jacquie, the reason I have no miles logged yet is that the headlights went out on our van....which means I can't go to the gym till they're fixed on Monday. Look for my miles to show next week.

That's about all I can remember that I've accomplished.

So, goals for this week:
a) get money order and passport photo and fingerprints ready to send for La license.
b) mark rest of quilt
c) make baby blanket
d) mail stuff to Steph
e) complete and post 3 favorite prayers meme that Lisa tagged me for
f) complete and post 5 favorite devotions meme that Sherry tagged me for.
g) edit and post the Absolutely Awesome pictures my brand new camera took at the water park last week.
h) survive my stress echo tomorrow morning....for some reason running on a treadmill immediately after working for 12 hours is NOT appealing...but rather appalling
i) enroll my middle child in KINDERGARTEN!!!!
j) take the kids to the Dallas Aquarium!!

Yes, I did it again!

So, yesterday I decided the kids could run errands with me.

We had 3 or 4 places to go and ended up once again at Target.
Hubby and I have started to call it the Target Trail of Tears!! I mean to tell ya, there's nothing better than a couple laps around our SuperTarget to wear these kids plum O.U.T.

Maybe I should see if I could be Target's "Jared"!! It's a whole new approach to fighting childhood obesity during the summer!! Less crowded and closer to home than mall walking I give you Tromping through Target!!!

Since I was a little low on cash I decided to buy my lunch from the deli and then head to Jack in the Box for the kids' standard grilled cheese and french fries and grabbed a box of grapes to go with my lunch. The kids decided they looked quite yummy and that we needed bananas to go with them!

So then lunch time comes and I actually had to MAKE these hooligans stop eating the grapes and bananas to eat the junk food lunch I'd bought them!! Goofballs!!

They've been tired for the rest of yesterday and all day today....guess that Tromp down the Target Trail worked! haha.
