I made my stepmom's famous gingersnaps.
So, anyone wonder what 144 gingersnaps LOOKS LIKE??
All I can say is that I'm glad I have a party on Tuesday where we're sposed to "bring food".....wanna guess what I signed up to bring??
Speedy decided she liked my new tree skirt. I told Subvet we should stick a bow on her head and call her a present.......anyone up for the task of bowing the kitty???
heeheehee......
I am going to write down WHO puts away the outside lights this year....and the SAME PERSON gets to put them up next year!!!
I was sooooo mad at Subvet today as I attempted to detangle the MESS of Christmas lights he left in the trash bag that he considered "putting away" the lights last year. It took me stinking FOREVER to put up 3 strands of lights!!!
This, however, is how the 2 strings of lights from the tree looked when taken out of the shoebox labeled "Christmas Tree Lights".
wanna guess who put THEM away?? Sooooo easy to put on the tree. just undo one section at a time and you're not dragging a whole strand of lights around and around and around the tree! Not a tangle or hangup in sight!
Which brings me to the 7P Principle....which, oddly enough, I learned from Subvet!
Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

I use the bread twisty method for tangle free Christmas lights myself. Works for me!
I know about cookie exchanges but have never participated in one myself. Would like to sometime though. Bet you get lots of different kinds in exchange.
Speedy looks right at home under the tree, and I'll bet I could put a bow on her. Might not stay, and we'd probably both be wounded, but I could do it. ;o)
I've had a lot of experience doing things to cats that they don't particularly like, both in the name of doctoring them and putting tape and string and such on them for my personal amusement. Not that they seemed to like it much, but hey, I was shickled teatless, lol! ;o)
Merry Christmas to you, Subby and the hooligans!
I surely agree with your 7P!!!

Ahh a good principle indeed! I'm going to have to try that light trick for next year! That cat looks very content under that tree....
12 dozen gingersnaps!! They look good...
I went to a cookie exchange several years ago. I wondered what I would do with the 6 dozen cookies I got (we only made 1/2 dozen per guest). At the time, we were having an addition put on our house. I told the contractor and his helper to help themselves to "some" cookies. When I arrived home from work that night, I discovered that they had eaten 80% of the cookies! I guessed that they both skipped dinner that night. LOL.
The best thing about our artifical tree (purchased due to allergies) is that it has the lights already on it. No light strand tangles in our house anymore.
Still got to get the dining room table dragged into the kitchen so I can haul out the tree and put it up. No one to blame but me if the lights are tangled, but then, it seems to take just as long to untangle them to put them away as it does to untangle them when I get them out. Same difference.
We had our Christmas party last night at a gal's house and there was tons of food and sweets. I took my cranberry orange relish because Jennifer wanted me to, even though it was suppsed to be mostly finger foods. It was a lot of fun!
I've never been to a cookie exchange before...and since I'm trying to watch my weight this year, I think I would have to pass. But..oh! do I LOVE cookies!
And yes, the Christmas decoration stuff is always fun. I usually do most of the decorating and ALL of the putting away. My husband just puts the lights outside that are placed along the roof line (two floors) because I refuse to go to the top of an extension ladder and climb on the roof.
Lucky for me, my husband is good about taking those lights down and winding them up in a way that they won't be tangled the next year...because he would be the one doing the untangling, or buying new boxes of lights.
We don't even have our tree up yet! It's in our garage in a pot of water and will be put up next Saturday. The rest of the inside decorations will be going up on Monday afternoon. The only thing I have up now is my advent wreath that is sitting on my dining room table.
I don't ever remember being so far behind in my decorating!
Am I to understand that you got the 12 dozen gingersnaps back? If so, the cookie exchange didn't work out properly. Maybe I'm mistaken.
Hubby puts the lights away in our house. He does a much better job than I would do but do like his 7 P Principle. LOL
Have a great week, my friend.
Blessings,
Mary
i agree with your philosophy... who ever puts it away should have to be the one to put it up the next year. at least to help out. what was subvet thinking?
