My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

Busy Weekend!!

We had a busy weekend over here at Casa Mightymom! We celebrated Sugar's birthday with another wonderful family party at Denny's. She liked the crown! It's hard to tell if her favorite present was the little stuffed pink kitty....or the giant remote control police car.....cuz she's JUST sooo girlie!!!

I love doing this for birthdays! So fun! so easy! and the balloon guy was there too!

Then the boys both had "family projects" due on Monday, which I found the paperwork for late. So we worked on getting them done in time to dry.....

Sonshine's: to decorate a large paper doll as what he wants to be when he grows up

Gator's: to decorate a shoebox into his habitat of choice, a desert

Thanks to the miracle of facebook! I had no shoeboxes and found out about this project on Tues! I put up on facebook that I needed a shoebox in a hurry and 2 miraculously appeared at my daughter's preschool classroom on Wed waiting for us!! THANKS LADIES you guys are just AWESOME!

After my shift TONIGHT my vacation starts!! Yippee!!!

Hubby will have his right knee replaced (totally) sometime Tuesday. All prayers are appreciated.

Next week is Spring Break and I have at least 3 outings planned for me and the kids.

Due to this change in routine and the need to focus on taking care of my hubby, kids, and house. (cats too I guess...) I'm planning on not being online for the next 2 weeks. (except for a quick surgery update sometime Tues)

Y'all play nice while I'm gone and I will come back March 19th with plenty of pictures and stories to share!!

BIRTHDAYS!!!

The curtain is once again up.

One Friday morning, my 32nd birthday matter of fact, I went to my OB. I was not yet 36 weeks into my 4th pregnancy and I'd been on bedrest at home for over a month. I remember being excited that I was getting out of the house and actually driving. Doctor says "you seem to be all baby....let's go to the perinatologist and get a sonogram". Well, this is probably the 80th time I'd been sent to them for a sonogram over the last 4 years so I wasn't too worried. Matter of fact, this pregnancy had already lasted longer than my *last* one by 5 days so I figured we were doing pretty good! I truck on over to the perinatologist's office and wait to be worked in. I really should have learned by now to just schedule an appointment with them on the same day as each of my OB appointments, he sends me over so often!

Hmmmm, says the perinatologist.....(this is the same doc who asked me "So, who's tall in your family" at a previous visit)....your amniotic fluid has dropped. Well, ok I think, it's always on the low side. I ask her "I'm already on bedrest, what else do you do for that?"

Her response:
"Oh, I'm going to recommend we deliver."

And just like that, one birthday became two.

I get a variety of reactions when people learn that my girl and I have the same birthday. Giggles from the person asking me for one of our birthdays that I told the other year to. Amazement from people who don't know what to think. Sympathy from those who seem to think it'd be terrible to share your birthday. And smiles from those who understand what a fun and precious gift it is.

She's a lot like me too! With her bed full of stuffed animals that she "reads" to, frequently falling asleep with her light on and a book in her hand.

She's strong willed and stubborn. (I try to pass those off on her Dad, but well....if you know me....you KNOW.) There's not much "girly-ness" in her, other than the nickname I call her. She has no use for dolls or dresses, won't put anything in her hair, and necklaces are to be used either to tie things up with or to test her strength and see how hard it is to break the string.

She's sweet and talkative and mostly cheerful.

And the BEST birthday present anyone could ever ask for!

Happy 5th Birthday Sugar-Girlie! Momma loves ya.

**you'll be hearing that story in 2 weeks**
