My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Happy New Year!

I'm working on another blog post....

in the meantime I have a couple things to share.

Y'all asked me where the picture was of our Advent Calendar poster from this year.

In the center at the bottom you can see a bit of Sonshine's snowman, lean your head to the left and you can see Gator's Christmas tree and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and if you lean your head to the right while using your imagination you can almost see the 3 or 4 orange dots that Sugars says are Chrismas lights. (I had them all color the poster at the same time sitting around the end of our kitchen table.)

I started off the year by working. Thurs, Fri, Sat nights, and this week I'll work Mon, Tues, Wed. (yes, you counted right, that's 6 out of 7 nights straight)

So last night, while Subvet was off at Mass and shopping was my first real time with the kids this year.....

The kids and I used our time to pack up all our indoor Christmas decorations. And I've gotten into a declutter and rearrange mood lately. So we're also moving some of our pretty's around and getting rid of some stuff too.

Once all the ornaments and lights were off the tree each kid gave it a hug and said "I love you Christmas Tree! See you next Christmas." to it before I disassembled it and packed it up.

To "celebrate" Sonshine and I conducted an experiment.

We put a glass (plastic fortunately...) of water in the freezer and left it for the night.

When he got up at FOUR THIS MORNING....all he wanted to do was check on that glass!!

Well, we found out that water will indeed freeze into ice overnight...and that it gets bigger! Big enough to break our glass!! So we set it in the sink and waited, once the ice had melted enough to come out of the glass we decided to continue our experimentation....

We concluded that ice is COLD and WET...

That it slides across our concrete kitchen floor really fast.
And that it melts in the microwave!!
heh heh heh.
Wonder what we'll experiment with on Thursday night when Subvet's off at his meeting??

Your new header is fantastic! All of the hooligans look so happy!

So, I guess we should start calling you Mr. Wizard now, huh?

Good luck with that 6-day rotation!

How cute! I love it when kids do experiments, something my husband used to do with our kids all the time.

My seven year old granddaughter has decided that she is a "mad scientist". Not only that, but she also changed her name from "Liana Rose" to "Liana Kaboom" because she said it sound more like a mad scientist. So, for Christmas I had a black t-shirt made up for her (she decided that black is her new favorite color because, like the name change, it's more "mad scientisty"). The shirt says in big white letters "Liana Kaboom" and below that in parenthesis, "mad scientist".

She said that was the best Christmas present she got that year. Who whudda thunk it, eh? ;-)

She said that now all the kids in school will believe her that she's a mad scientist. I guess if the shirt says it's true...it must be!
