My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

Saturday!

Ahhh, Saturday. A day without work, a day of sleeping late, a day of peace.........

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Now, here's what REALLY happened today.

The kids and I got up at 6ish....our normal time.

Then the kids and hubby went horse back riding....

While they were gone I Zumba'd.........which led me straight to a hot bath to soak!
wow, do my thighs hurt! :-) looking forward to Monday when I'll be able to Zumba again.

After they came home and we ate lunch I took Miss Priss to get her hair cut. She H.A.T.E.S. getting her hair cut. Don't ask me why.

And since I'm a sucker (with a headache)....I grabbed one of the overpriced beanie baby things the kids' salon was selling and promised it to her if she behaved.

And other than a bit of yelling, she did behave....
So, here's her new haircut and new best pal, "Scooby Doodoodle"
Sorry it's the best pic I could get, today was a smile AFTER the flash day....

On our drive to and from the haircut I got to see some of our beautiful turning trees up against a huge bright blue sky and perfect 55-60 degree temps.

I never have understood people who move down here and say "I miss having four seasons"....
as though Texas doesn't have Fall.....

Sorry about the bad pics, I didn't have my camera with me and these were taken with the iphone.

And then tonight I was treated to a sight that always makes me smile......and hungry!
I do this too, sit with a pile of cookbooks and peruse recipes looking for something new to make.

Do any of y'all love to just sit and thumb through cookbooks?

My goals for next week are to exercise 3 times, get headway made on the Christmas gifts, finish Moby Dick. What are your plans for the week?

I love to read through recipes which then cause me to get the idea into my head that I can actually make some of the things that I just read about! Sometimes they come out but sometimes I should have just left them on the page where I found them!

Sounds like you had a pretty busy day off - I can relate to that myself! At least I got a couple things done in the process - always good but where did the day go??

I am not a recipe book lover. I tend to use the same old recipes year after year. LOL Most of those recipes were Grandmas.

Great haircut and bribery works well. Whatever works, use it. Brandon didn't like to get his hair cut until he was ten and now he wants it short all the time. Can't stand it long.

Glad to be connected again. Have missed you and your wonderful life.

She looks cute! My kids hate getting haircuts too - lucky with boys though, I can just do it at home.

I look through recipes ALL the time trying to get inspired! (one reason I love to read food blogs!)

I'm trying to make some of the South Beach recipes, and I like them, but hubby--not so much. Lately anything else makes me feel deprived and CRAVING, so I've backed off reading cookbooks for a while!

Well, tell Sugars that is the cutest haircut EVER!

Love Shortcake's haircut -- I'm trying to convince my 8 yo to get hers this length. So much easier on Mom! And, yes, I do. I do thumb thru cookbooks and slobber -- and nowadays, I say, "Child, wouldn't you just love to make some of these death-by-chocoloate brownies here in this cookbook?" And then I cheer them on while they cook. :)
