My Husband "Subvet" says that when our first son "Sonshine" was born the sun rose on our world, when our second son "Gator" was born the sun laughed and when our daughter "Sugars" was born all the flowers bloomed. That says it all.

Excellent man and excellent lady for passing on this story. There are so many "un-sung" heroes we never get to hear about....

That is an amazing story. It's too bad Obama will never honor him. He's more concerned with not insulting Vietnamese communists.

he sounds like an amazing man.

my dad flew hueys in the viet nam war. i've heard many stories where the helicopter pilots were real heros. i know there were times when they were not allowed to fly in because of the danger to themselves.

it makes me curious as to how this gentleman came to have his own helicopter and knew where to fly in to pick up wounded. i bet it's an interesting story.

Glad you linked to that. I agree that we have too many UNSUNG heroes.
